SisterWorks

SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise, based in Melbourne. Through purposeful work and entrepreneurship, their mission is to support women who are refugees, asylum seekers or migrants to improve their confidence, mental well-being, sense of belonging and economic outlook. These women are affectionately known as the Sisters. To date, they have supported more than 800 Sisters from 56 different countries.

Their vision is an Australia where all migrant women are given the opportunities to become economically empowered.

SisterWorks operates under the ethos that Work Empowers Women. SisterWorks’ Empowerment Hubs are workplaces and training centres that provide the Sisters with meaningful opportunities to develop pathways of education, employment, entrepreneurship and leadership. The Empowerment Hubs (located in Abbotsford, Bendigo & Dandenong) provide a centralised meeting place to prevent isolation and helps the Sisters to connect with each other, as well as to connect with local and global communities. SisterWorks delivers learning opportunities through their Labs, providing support, Design, Cooking, Business and Digital and pathways. SisterWorks provides a safe, friendly and nurturing space. At SisterWorks, learning by doing, sharing knowledge, supporting each other and growing together is the secret to success.
